The Pizza Shoppe in Penfield's Panorama Plaza announced on Facebook that it's closed for good.
"As we approach our 5 year anniversary, we've spent a great deal of time thinking about what the future holds," the statement read. "After carefully weighing both practical and personal considerations, we've made the difficult decision to close the restaurant.
"This wasn't an easy decision. This place has meant so much to us, and even more so because of you."
It thanked its many customers and encouraged people with outstanding gift certificates to email hello@tpsroc.com by mid-October.

Donna DiMarzo opened the shop in 2022. It specialized in rectangular pizzas, cooked in deck ovens, with a thick Detroit-style crust. It also made pasta dishes and salads.
Colin Janick purchased the shop in 2023, continuing the original focus but also adding specialties from his hometown of Utica.
