New York ranks No. 23 among the 50 states for pumpkin spice latte searches, according to a consumer survey that analyzed Google search data to determine where the seasonal drink is most popular.

Health consumer blog Innerbody analyzed Google search data from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., for the study.

Searches for pumpkin spice lattes begin in mid-August, a few weeks before coffee chains such as Starbucks and Dunkin' release their fall drinks in late August.

So which states are most obsessed with pumpkin spice lattes — and where does New York rank?

New York ranks No. 23 among the

50 states for the frequency of pumpkin spice latte searches, indicating that New Yorkers may not be as interested in the seasonal drink compared with their interest in regular coffee.

New York ranks third among states for the most coffee-related searches, according to the survey.

Other Northeastern states also rank low on the pumpkin spice latte list, including foliage-heavy states such as Massachusetts at No. 25, New Hampshire at No. 33, Maine at No. 46 and Vermont at No. 48.

Arizona, one of the warmest states during the fall, takes the top spot for pumpkin spice latte searches. Colorado ranks second and Kentucky ranks third.

Other warm-weather states, including California, South Carolina and Florida, rank among the top 15. Several Midwestern states, including Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin, also rank in the top 10.

Mississippi ranks last on the list, continuing a trend of relatively low interest in pumpkin spice and coffee-related searches, according to the survey.
