pedestrian was struck and killed by a train early Monday morning in Macedon, Wayne County.
The fatal encounter occurred around 3:35 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, on CSX tracks near Walworth Road, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. A westbound freight train struck a 34-year-old man who was walking on the tracks, deputies said.
Damaged vehicle found in ditch
Deputies said the man appeared to have been walking on the tracks near where his vehicle had crashed into a ditch.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, Wayne County Sheriff Robert Milby said.
The man's name was not released pending notification of his family.
