HILTON – Good luck stopping this Hilton offense.
The Cadets scored 100 combined points in their first two Section V football games of 2026. Victor, meanwhile, only surrendered 13 combined points on defense during that span.
Something had to give Week 3.
Hilton (3-0) proved too much for Victor (2-1) on Friday, as Matt Kosiorek threw four touchdown passes in a 28-0 triumph. Tyler Reger caught two of those touchdowns while also grabbing a defensive interception, leading another standout team performance in a meeting between Section V Class A1 championship hopefuls.
“We can come at you in a lot of different ways,” Hilton head coach Rich Lipani said postgame. “We have some good football players and just need to keep improving. It’s a long season, but
so far so good.”
Find your balance
Hilton scored on four of its five initial offensive possessions, including a third quarter drive which bled more than seven minutes of game clock. The Cadets mixed rush and pass to form a balanced attack, utilizing Reger’s athleticism throughout the field.
Reger finished with four receptions for 102 yards and two TDs. Kosiorek completed 9-of-10 pass attempts for 228 yards and four touchdowns while also rushing nine times for 64 yards.
Luca Auriuso and Jared Wade each caught a touchdown for Hilton, which produced 436 total yards of offense while surrendering just 86. Calvin Starwald rushed 15 times for 73 yards.
Hilton hung 59 points on Fairport in its season opener before scoring 41 against Penfield the following week.
“We want to keep things balanced,” Lipani said, “and we have a lot of people who have contributed the first few weeks.”
Looking ahead
Hilton will see just one more Section V Class A1 opponent before regular season’s end, an Oct. 2 trip to Webster Schroeder (2-1).
Few dispute Brighton, the two-time defending Class A1 champ, as the favorite to three-peat in Section V. But could Hilton end the Bruins’ reign come November?
The Cadets, with their stellar offense, looked the part against Victor.
