Six children's hospitals will join the Golisano Children's Alliance after billionaire philanthropist Tom Golisano announced $225 million in new donations to expand the network.
The gifts are the latest in a series of major donations by Golisano
, founder of Paychex, and expand the alliance to 21 hospitals nationwide. The new money, announced Sept. 10, comes after a similar round of funding in April and last October.The new hospitals joining the alliance are:
- Children’s Minnesota in Minneapolis, $35 million: The gift is believed to be the largest of its kind for pediatric health in Minnesota. The funds will rename the campus to Children’s Minnesota Golisano Campus and be used to build infrastructure, expertise and access for technology like gene and cell therapies.
- Dartmouth Health Children’s in Lebanon, New Hampshire, $30 million: The donation to New Hampshire’s only children’s hospital is the largest in the health system’s history. It will be used to enhance the workforce and accelerate projects to modernize spaces in the hospital, as well as expand services in clinics.
- Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in Wesley Chapel, Florida, $40 million: The largest gift in the hospital’s history will be used toward construction of a new five-story, 56-bed building known as Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Golisano Children’s Medical Center at Wesley Chapel. The new campus is expected to open in fall 2027.
- Renown Health in Reno, Nevada, $40 million: The funds will be used to build a standalone children’s hospital; the hospital currently operates on several floors of Renown Regional Medical Center. The new hospital will be known as Golisano Children’s Hospital at Renown Health.
- Children’s Hospital Colorado in Colorado Springs, $40 million: The funds will be used for capital projects including additional surgical capacity, outpatient and treatment spaces, inpatient beds and other facilities intended to reduce wait times and improve access to care. The hospital will get an updated name as well, to Golisano Children’s Hospital, Colorado Springs.
- Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, $40 million: Part of the gift will be used to create a pediatric heart care consortium, with the hospital renaming its heart institute as the Golisano Pediatric Heart Institute.
Those six hospitals join the previous 15 members of the alliance. The alliance is a collaborative network of children's hospitals focused on sharing best practices, advancing pediatric innovation and expanding access to specialized care.
Golisano surpassed the $1 billion mark in charitable
giving in the initial round of hospitals added to the alliance in October 2025.
"These six hospitals take the Golisano Children's Alliance west for the first time, which means so much to me," Golisano said in a statement. "As a father and grandfather, I've seen firsthand what it means for a family to have a great children's hospital close to home in a difficult moment."
The goal is to expand the Golisano Children's Alliance to 40 members, with the current round of additions pushing the number past the halfway point. All told, Golisano's personal philanthropic investment in the alliance is $753 million.

- Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, New York
- Golisano Children’s Hospital of Lee Health, Fort Myers, Florida
- Golisano Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, Buffalo, New York
- Golisano Medical Center at Connecticut Children’s, Hartford, Connecticut
- Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital, Hershey, Pennsylvania
- Golisano Children’s at UK, Lexington, Kentucky
- University of Maryland Golisano Children’s Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland
- Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Vermont Health, Burlington, Vermont
- WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia
- Arkansas Children’s Golisano Campus, Little Rock, Arkansas
- Wellstar Golisano Children’s Hospital of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia
- Akron Children’s Golisano Campus, Akron, Ohio
- Dayton Children’s Hospital, Golisano Comprehensive Care Campus, Dayton, Ohio
