Aldi says nearly one-third of its everyday in-store assortment is now priced lower than it was a year ago following a new round of fall price cuts expected to save shoppers $86 million.
The Illinois-based grocery chain said the reductions began Sept. 23 and will remain in effect through at least Nov. 3.
"Customers trust us to help them make the most of their grocery budget, and we never stop looking for ways to run our business more efficiently so we can pass along savings," Scott Patton, Aldi's chief commercial officer, said in a news release. "As shoppers head into fall routines and healthier habits, we're making additional investments to lower prices on our better-for-you favorites, building on the value customers already see throughout our stores."
Some items covered by the price cuts include Autumncrisp grapes, Bartlett pears, Brussels sprouts, French-cut beans, butternut squash and a range of apples and potatoes.
The company also said its Kirkwood chicken breast family packs are $1.99 per pound, the lowest price since 2022.
"These reductions build on hundreds of items where prices are already lower than they were in 2025," the company said in the release.
Reductions on hundreds of products will run through at least Nov. 3 at stores nationwide.
Aldi price cuts come amid inflation pressures
The price cuts come as grocery shoppers continue to face higher prices this year.
In August, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that food-at-home prices were up 2.2% from a year earlier, with prices for fresh fruit and beef rising 3.8% and 5.9%, respectively.
Half of Americans said higher grocery costs were making holiday hosting more stressful, according to an Omnisend survey.

Aldi currently has around 140 stores in New York state, including 13 in the Rochester area and three in the Westchester/Rockland area, according to the company's website.
