Patricia A. Lawrence, a 54-year-old Jay woman found dead inside her home over the weekend, died in a homicide, according to New York State Police.
An autopsy conducted Monday morning at Glens Falls Hospital identified the victim as Lawrence. Forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica ruled her manner of death a homicide, police said.
Troopers responded around 10:05 a.m. Sunday to a residence at 150 Carey Road in the town of Jay after receiving a report of a deceased woman. They found Lawrence dead inside the home with what investigators described as non-self-inflicted injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Lawrence's death.
Police seek security camera footage
As part of the investigation, State Police are asking residents and businesses in the area to review surveillance footage recorded between approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, and 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, for any suspicious activity.

Investigation remains active
Investigators said they are continuing to process the scene and execute multiple search warrants as they work to determine what led to Lawrence's death. No arrests have been announced.
