A man has been accused of stabbing his housemate to death earlier this week inside their northeast Rochester residence.
Man stabbed to death in Roth Street residence
First responders were called to 37 Roth St., just north of Clifford Avenue in Rochester, around 8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, for a report of an unresponsive person inside the home, Rochester police Capt. Frank Umbrino said.
Officers entered the home and found Dynell Babers-White, 28, of Rochester, who had been stabbed at least twice in the upper body, Umbrino said.
Babers-White was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Housemate charged in homicide
Diego Pizarro, 46, was charged with second-degree murder, a felony, in connection with Babers-White's death, Umbrino said.
Police said Pizarro and Babers-White were
involved in an argument Monday that escalated. Pizarro is accused of producing a knife and using it to stab Babers-White twice, according to police.
The two men lived at the Roth Street home and knew each other but did not appear to be related, Umbrino said.
What's next
Pizarro was apprehended Wednesday morning and is expected to be arraigned in CAP Court on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
