Two winning Powerball tickets, each worth $50,000, were sold at stores in opposite parts of New York state, according to the New York Lottery.
Lottery officials said two third-prize-winning tickets were sold for the Oct. 17 Powerball drawing. One was purchased at a Giant Food Mart in Wellsville, Allegany County, in western New York. The other was sold at a convenience store in White Plains, Westchester County.
The estimated Powerball jackpot has reached $607 million, with a cash value of $255.7 million, according to the Powerball website.
