More than 120,000 cases of Gatorade sold in 37 states, including New York and New Jersey, have been recalled because they contain undeclared food coloring.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration classified the recall as Class II and said Friday, Oct. 2, that approximately 122,021 cases of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Lemon Lime Zero, Orange and Orange Zero were affected.
PepsiCo, the New York-based parent company of Gatorade, initiated the recall Friday, Sept. 25, because the products contain Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6 food coloring that was not listed on the labels.

Which Gatorade products are included in the recall?
According to the FDA's enforcement report, the recalled products have the following lot numbers:

What should consumers do with recalled Gatorade?
The FDA says consumers who have recalled products should return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund or dispose of them properly.
If a recalled food product has been opened or otherwise contaminated, consumers should securely wrap it before disposing of it to help prevent exposure.
What is a Class II recall?
The FDA classifies a recall as Class II when use of or exposure to a violative product could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. A Class II recall also can be used when the probability of serious adverse health consequences is considered remote.
Which states were affected by the Gatorade recall?
The recalled Gatorade products, including Lemon Lime and Orange flavors, were distributed in New York and 36 other states:
