Dad Strength also is sold at Wegmans stores in Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Six-packs sell for $11.49.
“We’re always looking for ways to give customers more choices that fit their lifestyles,” Wegmans said in a statement. “As interest in low- and no-alcohol beverages continues to grow, we’ve expanded our selection to include Dad Strength’s low-alcohol beers.”
What is Dad Strength beer?
Dad Strength was founded by Washington, D.C.-area friends Ryan Kutscher and Craig Carey, dads in their early 40s with young children.
The pair began mixing nonalcoholic beer with regular craft beer as
a way to cut back on their alcohol consumption while still enjoying beer. They said they wanted to avoid drinking too much in front of their children, waking up hungover and gaining weight.
Kutscher and Carey later partnered with Washington's Atlas Brew Works and launched Dad Strength in 2024.
The brand now offers an IPA, Juicy IPA and Hazy IPA. Each contains 2.9% alcohol by volume, or ABV, and 94 calories per 12-ounce can.
Dad Strength appeared on ‘Shark Tank’
Last fall, Kutscher and Carey appeared on “Shark Tank”, where they landed a $300,000 investment to help expand their beer portfolio.
The brand's expansion into New York comes as interest in low- and no-alcohol beverages continues to grow.
“Seeing Wegmans’ decision to dedicate shelf space to Low & No products is a powerful signal that this emerging category has real staying power,” Kutscher told Brewer Magazine. “It also shows there’s a growing demand for great-tasting craft options for consumers who want to drink less alcohol without giving up the experience of having a beer.”
