The June fire at a Rochester pallet facility is being investigated as arson, according to an update from the Rochester Police Department.
Police said investigators are also working to locate a person of interest in connection with the fire.
Fire broke out at Lyell Avenue facility
The Rochester Fire and Police departments responded June 7 to the Pallet Express facility at 1069 Lyell Ave. for a report of a large fire, according to police.
The Arson Task Force, made up of members of the Rochester police and fire departments and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, immediately began investigating the cause of the fire.
Investigation points to arson
The fire is currently being investigated as an arson, police said.
Police said some reports had indicated the fire was electrical in origin, but the department's
preliminary investigation does not support that theory.
Investigators are working to locate a person of interest in the case, according to police.
