A teen has been accused of fatally shooting a man who was sitting in a parked car outside a Rochester gas station last year.

Teen charged with murder
Gemarion Parson, 19, was charged with second-degree murder and two counts of felony criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the Nov. 18, 2025, killing of a man parked at a gas station at the corner of St. Paul and Norton streets, Rochester police Capt. Frank Umbrino said.
Police say shooting was targeted
Parson is accused of shooting Willie Mayhall, 36, of Rochester, at about 6:45 p.m. Nov. 18. The two men knew each other, and Umbrino said police believe the killing was "likely over drug turf."
Mayhall was sitting alone in his vehicle, which was parked at the gas pumps, when someone approached the car and
fired several shots into it. The shooter then fled on foot, Umbrino said.
Parson has been in custody since January
Parson was arrested in late December on an allegation that he possessed a handgun but was later released, Umbrino said.
He was arrested again about two weeks later in connection with an armed carjacking and has been in custody since Jan. 15.
Parson was charged through a Monroe County grand jury indictment that was unsealed in court Thursday morning, according to police.
