Boy dies days after being found unresponsive in pool
The boy was found unresponsive in a swimming pool on his family's property on Franklin Street in Phelps around 5:30 p.m. Aug. 26.
He died Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office. His name was not released.
Boy was out of sight for up to 15 minutes
Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione said the boy had been out of sight for between five and 15 minutes before he was found unresponsive in the pool.
Family members and a neighbor were performing CPR when deputies arrived, authorities said. Emergency responders continued efforts to revive the boy for about 25 minutes at the scene before he was
taken to Clifton Springs Hospital.
Boy regained pulse on way to hospital
The boy regained a pulse while being transported by ambulance, according to the Sheriff's Office.
He was stabilized at Clifton Springs Hospital before being flown to Strong Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
The boy died six days after the incident.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.
