A 19-year-old woman who went missing Monday night in Ellison Park was found safe Tuesday afternoon after an extensive search involving multiple agencies, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Emma L. Oppedisano was located around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday after a citizen on a trail reported seeing her, officials said. Officers responded to the area and were able to locate Oppedisano.
She was taken to a hospital and later reunited with her parents.
According to Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Oppedisano became separated from her father Monday night while the two were hiking in the park.
She was last seen around 8:30 p.m. Monday near Browncroft Boulevard and Old Browncroft Boulevard, near Irondequoit Creek.
The search included ground and aerial
operations, with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies, K-9 units, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office drone team and a New York State Police helicopter.
No other information was immediately available.
