Three people, including a 7-month-old baby, were seriously injured in a dog attack Saturday night on Chili Avenue in Rochester, according to Rochester police.
Dog attacks three people
Police officers responded to the 600 block of Chili Avenue at about 8:52 p.m. for a report of a dog bite.
Officers determined a dog had entered the front yard of a residence and began biting three female city residents — a 30-year-old woman, a 7-year-old girl and a 7-month-old baby. Police said the attack was unprovoked.
A citizen intervened and stopped the attack, then held the dog until police arrived.
Three taken to Strong Hospital
All three injured people were taken by AMR to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Animal Control officers responded and took custody of the dog.
Police said no other
injuries were reported. No owner or responsible party for the dog had been located as of the time of the report.
