Week 4 high school football action continued on Sept. 26 with a packed Saturday of Section V action.
Brockport and Batavia won close games. Rush-Henrietta and Red Jacket won big.
Here are Saturday's top Section V football performances.
Cam'Ron Bell, Greece Athena: Finished with two touchdowns among 24 carries for 107 yards, as the Trojans were 40-24 winners over Spencerport. Travis Portis caught 10 passes, one for a touchdown, and had 114 receiving yards.
Shawn Bembry, Greece Olympia/Odyssey: Intercepted a pass, forced a fumble and tackled three Batavia ballcarriers during a 7-6 loss. Andrew Wolff had a team-high eight tackles.
Juliun Carter, Greece Olympia/Odyssey: Scored his team's touchdown with a reception in a 7-6 loss to Batavia. Carter finished
with 32 receiving yards on three catches and 90 rushing yards on 17 carries. He also completed a pass on a play that covered 47 yards.
Rob Carter, Rush-Henrietta: The senior receiver paced the Royal Comets with six catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-7 win at Fairport. Imani Wagstaff, Denzel Sanchez and Terrell Moore Jr. each caught one TD pass for R-H.
Wesley Childs, Brockport: Scored two rushing touchdowns while gaining 90 yards on 20 carries to help the Blue Devils win the homecoming game at Eastridge, 27-20. Owen Rabjohn and Giuseppe Marracco also had a rushing touchdown, while Brockport quarterback Mason Scott completed 10 of his 12 passes for 190 yards.
Harrison Engle, McQuaid: A quarterback in his junior year with the Knights, Engle had two touchdown passes and snuck in from the Aquinas/Rochester Academy Charter 1-yard line during his team's 27-7 win. Engle connected with Chrisaun Jordan on a catch-and-run touchdown that covered 69 yards and added a 20-yard scoring pass to Christopher Nicholson.
Owen Figler, Greece Athena: Threw three passes that went for touchdowns, while completing 21 of 38 attempts for 247 yards against Spencerport, a team the Trojans defeated 40-24.
Ryder Froman, Eastridge: Completed 14-of-20 pass attempts for 281 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-20 loss to Brockport.
Rashaun Jiles, Eastridge: Recorded two sacks, five tackles, and two tackles for loss in a 27-20 loss to Brockport. Myron Stamps added two sacks and two tackles for loss.
Jorge Garcia, Midlakes: Senior linebacker grabbed two interceptions in a 17-0 win over Waterloo/Mynderse, one of which he returned for a touchdown. Also had 13 total tackles and a fumble recovery.
Myles Halmond, Eastridge: Caught five passes for 109 yards and a touchdown in 27-20 loss to Brockport. Kenyan Scott added four receptions for 109 yards and a score.
Markel Hill, Batavia: Scored a rushing touchdown and made 13 tackles, two tackles for loss during the team's 7-6 win over Greece Olympia/Odyssey. Hill finished with 63 yards on eight carries.
Dom Hillin, Rush-Henrietta: Led the Royal Comet defense with 11 tackles in a win at Fairport. Ryder Zuchegno added seven tackles.
Jaxson Ham, Red Jacket: Returned an interception 42 yards for a touchdown in 42-0 win against CG Finney. Benley Countryman added eight tackles while Brayden Bacon made five tackles and a fumble recovery.
Corbin Hughes, Midlakes: Recorded two interceptions in a 17-0 win over Waterloo/Mynderse which saw the Screaming Eagle defense force seven turnovers. Gavin Jones and Justin Mercado each had one interception.
Anthony Julian, Brighton: Made a team-high 10 tackles while Valerio Akujuobi added six, including one for loss, as Brighton defeated Webster Thomas 26-2.
Brendan Mangone, Rush-Henrietta: Senior quarterback completed 13-of-21 pass attempts for 309 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-7 victory at Fairport. Added seven tackles, an interception and a sack on defense.
Justin Medina, Brighton: Helped the Bruins win their homecoming game 26-2 over Webster Thomas with two touchdowns while gaining 105 yards on 12 carries, a forced fumble, and six tackles, including a sack and two other plays behind the line of scrimmage.
Conner Morse, Brockport: The junior intercepted a pass and made 3.5 tackles to help Brockport win 27-20 at Eastridge. Charles Saylor finished with two tackles, including a sack.
Zachary Rossignol, Brighton: Scored a touchdown while rushing for 99 yards on 12 carries during a 26-2 win over Webster Thomas. Gavin Vander Wal had a 12-yard touchdown pass to Zah'mere Williams.
Kaliem Smith, Aquinas/Rochester Academy Charter: Senior running back worked hard to gain 111 yards on 28 carries during a 27-7 loss to rival McQuaid.
Chase Sullivan, Greece Athena: Recovered a fumble and had 10 tackles, while Mark Rybke added seven, during a 40-24 win over Spencerport.
Michael Volpe, Batavia: Recovered a fumble and finished with 16 tackles in a 7-6 win over Greece Olympia/Odyssey. Ryan Bigsby made 12 tackles, Aiden Dodson nine and Devre Sanders forced a fumble and made four tackles.
Colten Waterman, Greece Athena: Caught eight passes, three for touchdowns, on his way to 112 receiving yards during a 40-24 win over Spencerport.
Barret Wetherbee, Red Jacket: Scored three touchdowns on just five carries in a 42-0 win over CG Finney, totaling 129 yards on the ground. Dominic Mencucci added 99 rushing yards and a TD.
Darquin Windham, McQuaid: Senior scored the final touchdown for the Knights during the team's 27-7 win over Aquinas/Rochester Academy Charter with a two-yard dive into the end zone in the fourth quarter.
