A Greece man has been charged after an assault Thursday evening left a 53-year-old man with life-threatening injuries, according to the Greece Police Department.
Man found unconscious after Wood Road assault
Officers responded around 6:10 p.m. July 30 to Wood Road in the town of Greece for a report of a physical altercation.
When officers and emergency medical personnel arrived, they found a 53-year-old man unconscious and suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The victim was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he remained in critical condition.
Suspect charged with felony assault
As part of the investigation, officers went to a residence on Mason Avenue, where they located and arrested the suspect without incident, police said.
Shawn Warnick, 46, of Greece, was charged with second-degree assault, a Class D felony.
Warnick was transported to the Monroe County Jail and arraigned in CAP Court. He remains in custody on $50,000 cash bail, a $100,000 bond or a $250,000 partially secured bond.
Investigation continues
The investigation remains active.
