NAPLES — Nineteen artists in 12 locations will be part of the 25th anniversary of the free, self-guided Naples Open Studio Trail.
The popular annual event at which a group of artists invite the public into their studios will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3 and 4.
Painter Joshua Carson, who loves abstract expressionism, will be among the new guest artists. Carson’s work is influenced by experiences of traveling across Europe and Central America and time spent living in England.
Other new guest artists include Kate Baranowski, ceramics, who will show at John Grabski’s studio; and Linny Ward, felt/fiber, who will show at Robin McCondichie’s studio.
The artists will be at locations scattered around Canandaigua Lake, including
Bristol, Naples, Middlesex and Branchport. A map is available online.
Each artist shows and sells their work in one of the trail artist’s studios, galleries or homes. Some may offer demonstrations.

The Naples Open Studio Trail is a group of artists who invite the public into their studios to share their craft, demonstrate how they work and create a better understanding of the arts.
They work in oils, acrylics, ceramics, metal, wood, yarn and pastels, and they create paintings, sculpture, wearables, furniture, sculpture, jewelry, housewares and more.
These artists typically sell their wares in galleries and craft fairs. During this event, purchases and commissions can be made directly with the artist.
