An old culvert on County Road 12 in Naples is in need of replacing.
The Ontario County Public Works Department wants to explain how it proposes to make it happen.
A public information meeting is scheduled for 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, for this culvert replacement project on County Road 12, near Old Rhine Street in the town of Naples.
The meeting will be held at the Naples Village Annex, 106 S. Main St., Naples. County staff will be there to briefly explain the project and address any questions.
What is proposed in the town of Naples?
The existing culvert, which is approximately 75 years old, is approximately 500 feet north of the intersection of Old Rhine Street and County Road 12.
Crews plan to replace the culvert during the 2027 construction season. The culvert conveys a minor
tributary of Naples Creek and is severely deteriorated in several locations, according to county officials.
What can residents and motorists expect during this Naples project?
The construction, which will run from next April to October 2027, will take place in one phase, and motorists will be able to use state Route 21 as a detour.
Residents living on this section of County Road 12 will have access to their property.
