A 74-year-old man was killed Monday when the logging truck he was driving overturned in Palmyra, according to New York State Police.
The crash happened at about 4:49 p.m. Aug. 10 on State Route 21, south of Temple Road.
Logging truck leaves roadway
The man was driving a 2023 Kenworth logging truck southbound on Route 21 when he failed to negotiate a curve, police said.
The truck left the roadway, overturned and came to rest near a large boulder.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters assisted in removing him from the vehicle.
The Wayne County coroner responded to the scene.
Investigation continues
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is continuing to investigate the crash.
Police were assisted by the Palmyra Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff's Office, East
Palmyra Fire Department, Palmyra Fire Department and Mercy Flight EMS.
