A Rochester man faces multiple charges after police say he drove a motorcycle into an officer during an interaction outside the Puerto Rican Festival.
According to the Rochester Police Department, an officer working a traffic post around 8:30 p.m. Aug. 1 observed 37-year-old Kevin Giordano park his motorcycle illegally in front of 290 E. Main St.
Police said Giordano became agitated during a conversation with the officer and made a comment about hitting him. Authorities said Giordano then started the motorcycle and drove forward, running over the officer’s foot and striking his leg, causing the officer to fall.
Officers removed Giordano from the motorcycle and took him into custody. Police said the officer suffered minor injuries.
Giordano, 37,
is charged with second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.
