A Canandaigua home sustained heavy fire, smoke and water damage after an early-morning fire Thursday.
All of the occupants were able to evacuate safely, according to Ontario County sheriff’s deputes.
The fire started in the basement of a home on County Road 16, deputies said. The Ontario County Fire Coordinators Office is investigating the cause.
In addition to deputies, Cheshire, Canandaigua, Hopewell and Veterans Affairs firefighters responded to the fire, which was reported at 12:22 a.m. Oct. 8.
East Bloomfield Ambulance and Canandaigua Emergency Squad crews also responded.
