The Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport recently unveiled an expanded Strong National Museum of Play exhibit area in Concourse A.
The play area, located in Concourse A next to the Flight Deck Diner, now provides more than 1,000 square feet of themed exhibits including a larger-than-life Mr. Potato Head sculpture, a toy dump truck and an oversized Etch A Sketch. The newly expanded area will also include:
- New glass barriers
- Updated seating
- Flight-themed decor
- Additional artifact cases
"The expanded exhibit in Concourse A, along with the existing area in Concourse B, is the perfect way to both welcome travelers and visitors to our community and to give families something to enjoy while waiting for a flight," Monroe County Executive Adam Bello said.
The play area will also feature two new digital experiences,
Paper Race, an interactive racing game featuring a large airplane themed controller, and SkyCrafter, an interactive display where players can customize their own flyer before launching it into a digital airspace.
Travelers will also find an existing play area in Concourse B featuring classic arcade games, a table tennis console game, an artifact display case and more.
