Josh Allen has been to Houston four times.
He's never left with a win.
An injury. An overtime playoff collapse. Nine completions on 30 attempts. A career-high eight sacks.
Houston has found a different way to make Allen miserable every time he's played there.
Allen is 0-4 in Houston, including the playoffs, and 1-4 against the Texans overall. His only victory against Houston came at home.
The Bills visit the Texans at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Reliant Stadium.
Has Josh Allen ever won in Houston?
No.
Allen has played four games in Houston since the Bills selected him with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
His first trip came during his rookie season in 2018. Allen completed 10 of 17 passes for 84 yards before leaving in the third quarter with an elbow injury. Nathan Peterman
replaced him and threw two interceptions, including a pick-six, in a 20-13 loss.
Allen returned to Houston a little more than a year later for his first NFL playoff game.
Buffalo led 16-0 in the third quarter before Houston rallied. Allen threw for 264 yards, ran for another 92 and caught a touchdown pass from John Brown, but the Texans won 22-19 in overtime.
Then came two more losses, and two very different versions of misery, the past two seasons.
Allen endured one of the worst passing performances of his career in Houston in 2024. He completed just 9 of 30 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown in a 23-20 loss decided on Ka'imi Fairbairn's 59-yard field goal as time expired.
Only 12 quarterbacks since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger had attempted at least 30 passes and completed nine or fewer in a game at the time.
Allen was far more accurate when Buffalo returned last season. It didn't matter.
He completed 24 of 34 passes for 253 yards but threw two interceptions and was sacked a career-high eight times as the Bills lost 23-19.
What is Josh Allen's record against the Texans?
Allen is 1-4 against Houston in the regular season and playoffs.
His lone victory came at home in 2021, when Buffalo demolished the Texans 40-0. Allen completed 20 of 30 passesfor 248 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
Overall, Allen has completed 87 of 157 passes for 980 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions in five games against Houston.
But his numbers in Houston are considerably worse.
Allen has completed 67 of 127 passes for 732 yards with only one touchdown and two interceptions in his four games there. He's also been sacked 14 times.
When did the Bills last win in Houston?
The Bills haven't won in Houston since Nov. 19, 2006, when J.P. Losman connected with Peerless Price for a 15-yard touchdown with nine seconds remaining to steal a 24-21 victory.
Allen was 10 years old.
