For all the time people spend at work, how often do we celebrate it when it’s done right? Here’s a chance to nominate a Top Workplace in the Rochester metro area.
This is the 14th year the Democrat and Chronicle will shine a spotlight on outstanding workplaces in the region, as viewed by workers. Any organization with 35 or more employees in the region is eligible to seek a Top Workplaces award. Companies will be honored in spring 2027.
Anyone can submit a nomination. The nomination deadline is Sept. 25. Participating employers can be public, private, non-profit, a school, or even a government agency. To nominate an employer or for more information on the awards, just go to democratandchronicle.com/nominate or call 585-502-1934.
There is no cost
to participate. To qualify as a Rochester Top Workplace, employees evaluate their workplace using a 26-question survey that takes just a few minutes to complete. Companies will be surveyed through early December.

Energage, the Pennsylvania-based research partner for the project, conducts Top Workplaces surveys for media in 70 markets nationwide and surveyed more than 2 million employees at more than 8,000 organizations in the past year.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a distinctive mark of excellence, setting companies apart in a recognizable way,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “Top Workplaces embody the highest standards, and this award, rooted in authentic employee feedback, should be a point of immense pride.”
For the 2026 awards, more than 3,000 organizations in the Rochester metro area were invited to survey their employees. Based on employee survey feedback, 59 earned recognition as Top Workplaces.
