On the heels of closing the Rev BBQ on Aug. 1, SCN Hospitality has closed its companion counter service barbecue restaurant. The closing was announced on its website.
The Revelry, which opened in 2013,
was rebranded Rev BBQ in October 2025. A companion counter-service joint called Rev BBQ Outpost opened within the same complex at the same time. Both were located within the former Huther Brothers saw manufacturing plant at 1290 University Ave.
"In the last week or so, we were presented with an opportunity we couldn’t turn down," said the website announcement. "Part of that opportunity means we are closing up shop entirely. Obviously, we didn’t expect this, but ultimately, it is the best move for our larger business."
Rev BBQ gift cards will be honored at Patron Saint, Velvet Belly, Branca Midtown, and Bitter Honey through Jan. 31, 2027. All are owned by SCN Hospitality, which also owned Rev BBQ.
