Delta Sonic has completed the purchase of a 12-acre parcel near the Latta Road Wegmans in Greece for a planned car wash, convenience store and fuel station.
Wegmans sold them the 12-acre parcel for $5.75 million, with the deed recorded Sept. 14 by the Monroe County Clerk. The parcel sits at 3177 Latta Road, south of the Wegmans and west of a McDonald's restaurant on Long Pond Road.
Site plan approvals to construct a 43,000-square-foot proposed convenience store, car wash facility and fuel dispensing station were granted by the Greece Planning Board in February. The project was met with community concerns about traffic, noise and impacts on property values due to the carwash.
Delta Sonic operates six car washes in Monroe County, with locations in Greece,
Henrietta, Irondequoit, Webster, Penfield and Rochester.
