Rochester police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Sunday in a wooded area near the Genesee River Trail.
Lake Section officers received information about a possible deceased person near Vincent Street and the Genesee River Trail. Officers searching the area, south of the Bausch Street Bridge, found the body of an unidentified man, according to the Rochester Police Department.
Police investigate possible murder
A preliminary investigation indicates the man may have been killed at another location and his body left where it was found, police said.
The manner of death has not been released. Detectives are working to determine when and where the man was killed and the circumstances surrounding his death. The Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office is assisting
with efforts to identify the victim.
Police said the victim was a Black man believed to be in his 20s or 30s. He was wearing a red soccer-style T-shirt with white stripes and dark-colored shorts.

The Major Crimes Homicide Unit is investigating and asking anyone with information or video related to the case to contact police.
