Back-to-school season is underway, and Chipotle is giving New York customers several chances to score a free entrée through a one-day buy-one-get-one promotion and a series of Sunday deals.
The fast-casual
restaurant chain announced Aug. 17 that it will hold a School Spirit BOGO promotion on Aug. 20, followed by three weeks of "Chipotle Sundays" discounts.
How does Chipotle's School Spirit BOGO work?
On Thursday, Aug. 20, customers who wear school-themed apparel or accessories to participating Chipotle locations after 3 p.m. local time can buy one entrée and get a second entrée free.
According to Chipotle, eligible apparel can represent any school from middle school through college. Items such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys and hats qualify.
The offer is available at participating restaurants while supplies last.
When are the Chipotle Sundays deals?
Chipotle is also offering deals on three consecutive Sundays: Aug. 23, Aug. 30 and Sept. 6.
Customers who order two or more entrées after 3 p.m. local time through the Chipotle app or website can receive a free entrée by using the code SUNDAYS at checkout, according to the company.
"Back-to-school season is all about showing your school spirit and getting back into the routines that make the week feel a little easier," Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle's senior vice president of brand marketing, said in the company's news release.

The promotions are available at participating Chipotle restaurants across New York.
Chipotle has locations throughout the Rochester and Finger Lakes regions, Hudson Valley, New York City, Long Island, Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany and other communities across the state.
Customers can find their nearest restaurant using Chipotle's New York location finder.
Customers should check with their local restaurant to confirm participation and offer availability.
When does Chipotle IQ end?
Aug. 20 is also the final day for Chipotle Rewards members in the United States and Canada to play the Chipotle IQ game.
The online game tests participants' knowledge of Chipotle's ingredients, culinary techniques and community involvement. Eligible players can win prizes including buy-one-get-one entrée codes, free Cilantro Lime Sauce and Queso Blanco offers, and Chipotle Rewards points, according to the company.
Chipotle Rewards members can participate through Chipotle IQ.
