Nightmare Manor, a longtime haunted attraction in Southtown Plaza, announced it will close indefinitely and will not reopen for the 2026 Halloween season.
Located at 3333 W. Henrietta Road in Henrietta, the attraction has operated for decades, becoming a Halloween tradition for many families across the Rochester area.
The attraction shared the news in a statement thanking customers, employees and vendors for their support over the years.
Halloween tradition comes to an end
"After nearly three decades of unforgettable Halloween seasons, we have made the difficult decision that Nightmare Manor will be closing indefinitely and not be opening for the 2026 Halloween season," the attraction said.
Operators thanked generations of visitors who made Nightmare Manor a Halloween tradition in
the Rochester area.
"To everyone who walked through our doors, screamed with friends and family, supported our events, and helped make Nightmare Manor a Rochester Halloween tradition — thank you," the statement said.
The business did not provide a reason for the closure.
Owners encourage fans to visit new Buffalo attraction
Although Nightmare Manor is closing, its operators said they remain involved in the haunted attraction industry and encouraged fans to visit Nightmare Wharf, a new haunted attraction opening this fall at the Buffalo & Erie County Naval & Military Park.
According to the announcement, Nightmare Wharf will feature multiple haunted attractions, immersive experiences, live entertainment, food and drinks throughout the historic naval park.
The operators also said proceeds from Nightmare Wharf will help support the Buffalo Naval Park's nonprofit mission.
"From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every scream, every laugh, every tradition, and every season," the statement read. "Nightmare Manor would never have become what it was without you."
