Woman's death ruled a homicide
Deputies were called to a residence on Ewald Drive in Penfield around 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, to investigate a reported burglary, said sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Brendan Hurley.
The investigation led deputies to a separate Ewald Drive residence, where they found a deceased woman, Hurley said.
The Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating the woman's death as a homicide, Hurley said Monday.
Sheriff's Office calls death an 'isolated incident'

Hurley said the preliminary investigation indicates the woman's death was an "isolated incident" and there is no evidence to suggest a threat to the general community.
Deputies did not disclose the woman's cause or manner of death, citing
the ongoing investigation. Her name and age also were not released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
