One person died Thursday morning in a crash involving an SUV and a farm tractor on Lake Road in Clarkson.
SUV crashes into farm tractor
An SUV was traveling north on Lake Road when it collided with a farm tractor towing a 17-foot disc shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
The crash occurred near Lawton Road.
The SUV driver died at the scene, said Lt. Dean Tuthill of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. The driver's name was not immediately released, pending notification of family.
The tractor driver was not injured, Tuthill said.
Lake Road closed during investigation
A portion of Lake Road between Lawton Road and Woodstock Lane is closed in both directions while deputies investigate the crash.
Deputies said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors for the tractor
operator, who is cooperating with the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation.
