The final touchdown of the Buffalo Bills' first practice at new Highmark Stadium didn't belong to Josh Allen, James Cook or DJ Moore.
It belonged to Desmond Akin.
The young Bills fan lined up in the backfield with Allen for the final play of Saturday night's Return of the Blue & Red practice.
Allen took the snap and faked a handoff to Cook before turning and giving the football to Desmond.
From there, Desmond took off.
He raced around a wall of Bills blockers and up the right sideline before reaching the end zone for a touchdown. The entire team followed him in, surrounding Desmond and jumping up and down in celebration as the crowd cheered.
This wasn't just a fun way to end practice.
Desmond, who is from Peru, New York, was at Highmark Stadium as part
of a wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He was diagnosed with brain cancer about a year and a half ago and is now in remission.
His night didn't end with the touchdown.
Desmond walked off the field alongside Bills coach Joe Brady while carrying Allen's gray jersey from practice.
"Is this the one he just played in? You're not allowed to wear this," Desmond's dad joked to his son.
Allen sat down for an on-field stadium broadcast interview before walking back over to Desmond's family.
Desmond and his family, including his younger brother Dexter, then met Allen and received autographs as Bills players and their families remained on the field following practice.
It put a memorable ending on the first public Bills event at new Highmark Stadium.
