A 53-year-old Greece man died after being assaulted on Wood Road, and a 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the case, according to the Greece Police Department.
Victim dies after assault
Police responded around 6:10 p.m. July 30 to a report of a physical altercation on Wood Road in the town of Greece.
Officers found Timothy Carlton, 53, of Greece, unconscious and suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died July 31, police said.
Suspect arrested
Shawn Warnick, 46, of Greece, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, a Class D felony, police said.
Warnick remains in custody at the Monroe County Jail pending further court proceedings.
Case being prosecuted by DA's Office
The case is now being prosecuted by the Monroe County District Attorney's Office.
