A dump truck driver died Monday morning after his vehicle struck a parked garbage truck in Stockholm, St. Lawrence County, according to New York State Police.
Dump truck struck parked garbage truck
The crash occurred on County Road 47 at about 7 a.m., police said.
A dump truck was traveling south on the road when it struck a garbage truck parked on the west shoulder, according to troopers. The dump truck then left the roadway and overturned.
Driver dies at scene
The dump truck driver, Gregory E. Yaddow, 72, of Gouverneur, suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Two people were inside the garbage truck at the time of the crash. The 44-year-old male driver and 57-year-old female passenger, both from Franklin County, were not injured.
Investigation underway
State police continue to investigate the
crash.
Stockholm is in New York's North Country, near the Canadian border.
