Nelson, playing for the first time since a season-ending shoulder injury in 2025, rushed for two touchdowns during Irondequoit's 43-21 victory in Week 1.
Nelson is a sophomore. The 5-foot-10 running back finished with 185 yards on 17 carries. His runs for touchdowns against Gates Chili were 19 and 28 yards at Irondequoit.
The Eagles opened last season with a 5-0 record despite losing Nelson to injury early in the year.
