What do experience and chemistry have in common?
Both are strengths of the 2026 Mercy girls volleyball team. Both were on display against CG Finney.
Mercy (6-3) defeated Finney in three sets (25-13, 25-13, 25-14) on Oct. 6. This result over the reigning Section V Class B champions built some midseason momentum for a Mercy squad fueled by senior setter Vivian Cordello.
Cordello feeds several talented Monarch attackers. She dished out 23 assists and four blocks against Finney.
Emma O'Connor recorded 10 aces and four kills. Brooklyn Albritton had a team-high eight kills and eight digs, plus two aces, and Sydney Sudano delivered six kills and four blocks.
Mercy will soon begin pursuit of a Section V title in Class AAA. The New York Volleyball Coaches
Association placed Mercy fourth in its Sept. 24 Class AAA state rankings.
Watch above as Cordello, AJ Jones and MC Solan detail the win over Finney and more.
