Irish music, dancers and spirits tastings will be highlights of the seventh annual Barry’s Irish Festival of Rochester on Friday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 22.
The festival, sponsored by Barry’s Old School Irish, will be held from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 21 and 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Webster Fireman’s Field, 1193-1207 Ridge Road. Tents and pavilions will be on site, so the event will be held rain or shine.
Children’s activities and crafts will be offered, and more than 40 craft vendors will sell goods. Festival merchandise also will be sold.
Competitions will include hurling and Gaelic football matches, a field goal contest, a cornhole tournament, a “Roll That Cabbage” contest, a kilt contest and the Rochester Cocktail Revival Bartender
Battle. People can sign up for the cornhole and kilt events at the front entrance table.
Raffle winners will be announced hourly, with a portion of proceeds going to Bella’s Bumbas, which provides mobility chairs to children worldwide.
Food trucks will be on hand along with a full beer and cocktail bar. Bar tips will go toward the Ancient Order of Hibernians’ efforts to build an Irish community center.

Tickets, valid for both days, cost $23.18 in advance at https://www.eventbrite.com/.../barrys-irish-festival-of...; a discount is available with the promo code Irish. Admission is free for children 16 and younger. Online sales end Aug. 22.
Overnight camping is allowed, and participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, ATMs will be on site.
