McDonald's Golden Arches Pack Giveback Program is coming back in 2026.
Through this program, New York state McDonald's locations will host free backpack giveaways for students in need from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m on Wednesday, August 5.
The following Rochester locations will participate in the giveaway:
- 1450 Lyell Ave., Rochester
- 2121 East Henrietta Rd., Rochester
- 1701 East Ave., Rochester
- 35 Spencerport Rd., Rochester
- 150 South Ave., Hilton
- 13 E State St., Mount Morris
- 2362 N. Main St., Warsaw
- 8 Forgham St., Lyons
- 67 Main St., Leroy
- 4090 Pearsall St., Williamson
- 44 Nichols St., Spencerport
McDonald's locations in Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany are also participating in the giveaway. The full list of participating locations is available on mcdsnybackpacks.com.
The backpacks will come filled with essential school supplies. Each student is allowed one backpack, and the student must attend the event to receive a backpack. The backpacks are first come, first served, as there are a limited number of backpacks at each location.
Some participating Rochester
locations will hold special promotions during the giveaway:
- The Spencerport location will host a meet and greet with Grimace. There will be opportunities for kids to sign up for library cards, get coupons for discounted haircuts and step inside a school bus so they feel ready for their first day.
- At the East Henrietta location, kids have a chance to get a free, signed copy of "The Adventures of Zada Jane," written by local McDonald's Owner Operator Mari Potter. The Ronald McDonald House staff will give away free bookmarks, and kids will have a chance to step inside a school bus to prepare for their first day.
