New rankings same No. 1 teams.
Penfield and Spencerport held their respective spots atop the New York Volleyball Coaches Association's latest statewide boys rankings. Penfield kept the top spot in Division I while Spencerport did the same for Division II in rankings based on matches played through Oct. 18.
Both sides remain unbeaten. They'll clash Oct. 27 in perhaps the most highly anticipated boys volleyball matchup of the 2026 regular season.
Section V playoffs start Nov. 2. Spencerport will seek its seventh consecutive section title in Class B1 while Penfield, New York's Class A runner-up a year ago, pursues both a Section V repeat and statewide redemption.
