This weekend, the Strong Museum of Play is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with family-friendly activities that will highlight Hispanic food, music and more.
The American Dairy Association North East will be the presenting sponsor of the celebration. Attendees can enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities and traditions. Events throughout the day will include:
- Make Papel Picado in the Play Lab
- Book readings at 11:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
- Bachata dance lesson from Elevate Dance Center in the Adams Atrium
- Performance by Elevate Dance Center in the Paychex Theater
- Meet & Greet with Mirabel in Field of Play from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. and 2–2:45 p.m.
- Magical Bubbly Party with Mirabel in Hasbro Game Park from 3–3:15 p.m.
Families will be able to sample Morir Soñando, a popular citrus drink from the Dominican Republic, and hear from Isabel Vazquez, a Rochester-based registered dietitian who will speak about dairy’s role in Hispanic cuisine.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Strong Museum of Play on Sept. 19.
