A motorcyclist died Wednesday afternoon after crashing on an Interstate 190 onramp in Buffalo, according to New York State Police.
Crash occurred on I-190 ramp
The one-vehicle crash happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, on an Interstate 190 onramp near Oak Street, state police said.
Galen E. Owens, 32, of Lockport, Niagara County, was traveling at a “high rate of speed” when his motorcycle struck a concrete barrier while navigating a curve, according to troopers.
The motorcycle became airborne and crashed into a concrete support for the highway, police said.
Motorcyclist dies at scene
Owens and the motorcycle came to rest underneath the highway, according to state police.
Owens died at the scene. His body was taken to the Erie County Medical Center for an autopsy.
State police continue to investigate
the crash.
