A section of West Henrietta Road undergoing a state paving project is drawing complaints from drivers who say temporary construction ramps have damaged tires and wheels.
Along West Henrietta Road, between Jefferson and Lehigh Station Road, the right lane going north has been milled to accommodate for railroad track replacement and paving. According to the New York State Department of Transportation, railroad tracks near Namaste Indian Grocery are being repaired as part of the project.
Temporary ramps have been installed near the repair site during construction; however, drivers have expressed their concerns about the ramps.
Drivers report tire damage from temporary ramps on Reddit
On the Rochester subreddit, users have been actively discussing reports of tire and wheel damage due to temporary ramps installed
along West Henrietta Road.
“I do roadside service and got two dispatches next to each other in the mall lot, and roll up to 4 cars total all with bent rims and blown out sidewalls,” wrote the user who created the post.
Other users were very responsive to the post with their own experiences commuting over the tracks. "Bad construction. It got me earlier today. Two weeks ago on the weekend the intersection was closed to let it cure. The whole thing has been a mess," another user responded.
DOT responds to temporary ramps on West Henrietta Road
According to DOT officials, recent weather conditions have caused delays; however, drivers can expect to see repairs made to the temporary ramps.
