An occupant of a Canandaigua apartment jumped from a second-story window to escape a fire Tuesday, and two dogs are receiving care after being rescued from the apartment, according to Canandaigua firefighters.
The fire was reported shortly before 1 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Garden Apartments on Bristol Street and was contained to a second-floor apartment.
The occupant was taken by Canandaigua Emergency Squad to F.F. Thompson Hospital for treatment.
The two dogs were rescued from the apartment and turned over to the Ontario County Humane Society.
Another apartment sustained minor water damage, firefighters said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
