The Buffalo Bills received encouraging injury news during their extended break.
Their next opponent wasn't quite as fortunate. The Los Angeles Chargers were hit with several injuries on Sunday.
Buffalo wide receiver DJ Moore and defensive lineman Ed Oliver are both considered day to day after missing at least part of Thursday night's 41-31 victory over the Detroit Lions
, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.Moore suffered an AC joint sprain against Detroit is expected to practice this week.
Oliver suffered a hip injury during pregame warmups and made him a surprise addition to Buffalo's inactive list. Oliver returned to the locker room shortly before the Bills had to submit their inactive list and told the team his hip was spasming. Buffalo did
not have enough time to fully evaluate the injury before the deadline and elected to hold him out.
The Chargers had five players leave Sunday's 26-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders with injuries. Tight end David Njoku was carted off with a knee injury and did not return, while safety Derwin James returned after suffering a broken pinky.

Bills running back Ty Johnson and defensive lineman T.J. Sanders could be nearing their season debuts after sitting out the first two games.
Buffalo (2-0) hosts the Los Angeles Chargers (0-2) at 1 p.m. on Sept. 27, giving the Bills nine days between games after playing twice in five days to open the season.

DJ Moore was hurt and later ruled out for the remainder of Thursday night's victory over Detroit.
Moore suffered an AC joint sprain and is considered day to day.
Moore was injured while attempting to make a diving catch from Josh Allen near the Detroit goal line with 3:01 remaining in the second quarter.
He came down hard on his left shoulder as a Lions defender landed on him and remained on the field while members of Buffalo's training staff examined him.
Moore eventually walked to the locker room under his own power and underwent X-rays. The Bills initially listed him as questionable to return with a shoulder injury before ruling him out after halftime.

Ed Oliver's surprise absence against Detroit might not extend into Week 3.
Oliver is considered day to day and has a chance to play against the Chargers, according to Rapoport.
The Bills were preparing to submit their inactive list Thursday when Oliver came into the locker room and reported that his hip was spasming, Rapoport said. Buffalo did not have enough time to fully evaluate him before the deadline and made him inactive.
Oliver had not appeared on Buffalo's injury report leading into the game.
The injury occurred during pregame warmups. DeWayne Carter replaced Oliver in the starting lineup against Detroit.
Oliver missed most of last season because of ankle and biceps injuries before returning for the start of 2026. He made five tackles, including one for loss, and recovered a fumble in Buffalo's season-opening victory over Houston.
Ty Johnson, RB, hamstring
Ty Johnson could be nearing his season debut after missing Buffalo's first two games.
Johnson was listed as questionable against Detroit after being limited throughout the short practice week but was ultimately inactive.
Johnson hasn't played since suffering a hamstring injury during Buffalo's Return of the Blue & Red practice Aug. 8.
Frank Gore Jr. has been elevated from the practice squad for each of Buffalo's first two games.
T.J. Sanders, DL, knee
Sanders was inactive for the second consecutive game after being listed as questionable with knee and illness designations.
The second-year defensive lineman initially suffered the knee injury during practice before Buffalo's season opener against Houston.
His potential return could be particularly important if Oliver remains limited this week.
Greg Rousseau, DE, knee
Greg Rousseau briefly received attention from Buffalo's training staff for his right knee during the first half against Detroit but returned to the game.
The Bills did not announce an injury during the game.
Rousseau leads the NFL with four sacks and three forced fumbles in 2026.
Keon Coleman, WR, undisclosed
Keon Coleman gave the Bills another brief injury scare against Detroit but missed only two plays.
Coleman went down after becoming tangled with a Lions defensive back while running a route late in the second quarter. Members of Buffalo's training staff examined him on the field before he jogged to the sideline.
Coleman had six receptions for 63 receiving yards in the win over the Lions.
Javon Solomon, DE, undisclosed
Javon Solomon remained down briefly following a collision late in Thursday's game but was able to get up and leave the field under his own power.
The Bills did not announce an injury.

Zane Durant has missed Buffalo's first two games after being placed on injured reserve with a neck injury suffered during the preseason.
Durant must miss at least the first four games and will not be eligible to return against the Chargers.

Tyrell Shavers remains on the physically unable to perform list while recovering from the torn ACL he suffered during Buffalo's wild-card playoff victory last season.

David Njoku left Sunday's loss to Las Vegas on a cart after suffering a knee injury in the second quarter.
Njoku was injured while blocking on a running play and remained down on the field while members of the Chargers' training staff examined him. He eventually was helped onto a cart and taken to the locker room.
Los Angeles initially listed Njoku as questionable to return before ruling him out.
Derwin James Jr., S, hand
Derwin James suffered a fractured left pinky during the first quarter against Las Vegas but was able to return.
James went to the locker room after suffering the injury and returned to the game before halftime.
He finished with seven tackles and said after the game that he plans to continue playing with a cast.
Dalvin Tomlinson, DL, hamstring
Dalvin Tomlinson left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter because of a hamstring injury and was listed as questionable to return.
Tomlinson already dealt with a hamstring issue leading into the game.
He was limited in practice Wednesday before sitting out Thursday with hamstring and rest designations. Tomlinson returned as a full participant Friday and entered the game without an injury designation.
Kayode Awosika, G, leg
Kayode Awosika left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter because of a leg injury.
The Los Angeles offensive line already played without Trey Pipkins III against Las Vegas because of a knee injury.
Charlie Kolar, TE, forearm
Charlie Kolar left Sunday's game with a forearm injury.
Kolar's injury came after Njoku had already been ruled out with a knee injury, leaving the Chargers thin at tight end.
Ladd McConkey, WR, rib
Ladd McConkey played through a rib injury Sunday after his status was uncertain for much of the week.
McConkey did not practice Wednesday or Thursday before returning as a limited participant Friday. The Chargers listed him as questionable against Las Vegas.
He was ultimately active and had three catches for 35 yards in the loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Elijah Molden missed Sunday's loss to Las Vegas with a hamstring injury.
Trey Pipkins III, OL, knee
Trey Pipkins III was inactive against Las Vegas because of a knee injury.
Deane Leonard, DB, abdomen
Deane Leonard missed Sunday's game despite being listed as questionable with an abdominal injury.
Leonard was a limited participant in all three practices last week before being included among Los Angeles' inactive players Sunday.
