The 'Dancing with the Stars' Season 35 premiere is upon us, and tonight fans will get to see the eight female stars take the ballroom floor for the first time tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The two-night premiere started Tuesday, with performances from the eight male stars and their partners. Connor Leavitt and his partner Adele Zaikman were eliminated during night one of the premiere.
Tonight, the eight female stars will get their chance to dance, and fans will get to vote for their favorite ones ahead of a second elimination.

How do 'Dancing with the Stars' eliminations work?

'Dancing with the
Stars' eliminations work by tallying up the totals of each duo's scores from the judges, along with how many votes they received from the public.
Live voting on ABC's website was down during night one of the premiere, so only text-in votes were counted.
Though Connor L. and Adele were not the lowest-scoring duo by the judges on night one, they did receive the least amount of votes from the public, giving them the lowest totals of the night.
When is the voting period open during 'Dancing with the Stars'
There are two ways to vote on 'Dancing with the Stars': via SMS or online, but the voting period is only open between the start of the show, 8 p.m. ET, and shortly after the final dance of the night.
Votes before or after the voting period is open will not be counted.
How to vote on 'Dancing with the Stars' SMS

Fans who want to vote via SMS can text the name of the star they are voting for to 21523 during the open voting period. There is a limit of 10 votes per couple, and the SMS votes cannot be changed once the texts are sent.
You should receive a one-time text after the first time you vote for a couple in each voting window, and after you have reached the 10 vote limit per couple.
SMS voting is only allowed for those physically located within the United States and its territories with a participating wireless carrier. Those located in Canada are not able to vote over text.
Votes during tonight's episode, Wednesday, Sept. 16, will only be accepted for the female stars. Any votes for the male stars will not be counted during tonight's episode, as only the women are performing.
Following premiere week, you will likely be able to vote for both the male and female stars during each voting period.
How to vote on 'Dancing with the Stars' online

For online voting, you will have to make an account on dwtsvote.abc.com/. Once you make your account, you will be sent a confirmation email with a verification code that you will have to enter on the website.
After your account is set up and verified, you can follow the online instructions during the voting window to cast your vote.
There is a limit of 10 votes per couple, but you can change your votes online during the open voting period by selecting "Save Votes" each time you change your selections.
You must be 18-years-old or older and located within the United States, including its territories, or Canada to vote online. For more information on how to cast online votes for 'Dancing with the Stars,' visit dwtsvote.abc.com/faq.

The eight female stars will all perform with their partners tonight, Sept. 16, to a hit song from the year they were born. The couple with the lowest combined score from the judges and America's votes will be sent home.
