A 23-year-old woman was killed early Wednesday after the vehicle she was driving crashed into a utility pole in the Wayne County town of Wolcott, according to New York State Police.

Troopers responded to State Route 104A in Wolcott at about 1:59 a.m. Aug. 12 for a report of a one-vehicle crash involving a utility pole.
Investigators said a 2007 Chevrolet had left the roadway and struck the pole. The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was separated into multiple sections in the crash.
The driver and sole occupant, a 23-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Wayne County Coroner's Office responded to the scene.
Investigation ongoing
State police said the crash remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately released.
