Two inmates at the Steuben County Jail are accused of assaulting another inmate earlier this week.
Inmates charged with assault
Daniel L. Beal, 57, of Rochester, and Jonathan A. Rivaldo, 29, of Corning, were each charged with second-degree assault, a felony, according to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office.
Both men are accused of assaulting another inmate at the jail on Sunday, Aug. 16.
Deputies did not clarify whether Beal and Rivaldo were involved in the same incident or whether they are accused of separate assaults involving different inmates.
Injured inmate treated by medical staff
In both cases, the injured inmate was treated by the jail's medical staff, deputies said.
Beal and Rivaldo were each arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and returned to the Steuben County Jail without bail.
No additional details
were immediately released.
