A 71-year-old Lyons man was arrested after an alleged road rage incident involving a bicyclist that began in Newark and continued into the town of Arcadia, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Robert A. Bushart, of Maple Street Road in Lyons, was arrested on charges of third-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangerment and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Deputies say bicyclist was attacked
According to deputies, the incident began in the village of Newark before continuing into the town of Arcadia.
Bushart allegedly swerved his vehicle toward the bicyclist and cut him off while traveling on a public roadway, deputies said.
Bushart then allegedly sprayed the bicyclist in the face with pepper spray and kicked him in the face.
Deputies said they identified
Bushart based on a description provided by the victim.
Bushart to be arraigned
Bushart was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff's Office before being transported to the Wayne County Jail.
He was expected to be arraigned in CAP Court on the charges.
